is the result of over 20 years experience in managing information technology infrastructures
for a variety of mid-sized companies. This experience taught me one core truth
"no single technology, fits all situations" this is the concept behind
Independent Technology. Windows is great, Unix is great, MAC is great but neither
is perfect for all situations. This is not just true of Operating System Platforms
but software as well. I can agree that this concept is not special or new, however
it is the practice of this diversity that usually falls far short. IT Consultants
generally fall into a form of tunnel vision when "advising" on products and solutions.
We tend to "sell" what we know. Forcing your solution to fit a predefined box. Solutions
need to be developed only after a complete understanding of all objectives and goals.
Independent solutions require abandoning all preconceived notions about "what is
best". An excellent example of this thinking would be the goal of file storage;
I could install a windows 2003 server and send you my bill. Never considering other
factors like the need for encryption of the storage, is this storage going to be
enterprise wide or local, do you need granular permissions to the file level, is
physical space an issue. Depending on the answer to the questions maybe a Linux
Server is best. An easy $800.00 savings, or perhaps what you only need is a plain
old Network attached storage device no bigger then a paperback book. The choices
are endless and only one is "best" suited to you and your environment and most important
your goal. At Independent Technology we do believe in the old saying "talk is cheep"
and in today’s technology jungle, talking now will save you money later.

industry. Having spent the last 25 years working in and around this industry I have
developed a strong understanding of the needs and problems of this dynamic and always

to GPS location and routing. I can provide a wide range of "third-party" add-on
products that interoporate with a large number of the industry's leading software
packages. many are custom developed and packaged for quick deployment. No longer
is YOUR valuable data held hostage by your software vendor. With continually shrinking
margins I understand the need to work smarter and cut repetitive back-office tasks
and squeeze every bit of return on your ever increasing resource cost.
